Amazon S3 integration now available
thePlatform now supports the Amazon S3 online storage solution. S3 offers the same data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own web sites. Whether you want to use it to store media or deliver thumbnails, DRM content, or short-form Flash content S3 gives you an affordable and scalable choice for storing and delivering content online. This is another seamless integration with a valuable technology provider that helps make thePlatform the leading video publishing system in the industry.
To use Amazon S3 with thePlatform's services, you just configure the server in our media publishing system (mps). We can work with any S3 account to store and retrieve files. Once you set up an S3 account and "bucket," there is no additional configuration required. Whether you are using S3 for storage or delivery, your account can mix and match the security levels you need. thePlatform supports S3's "named" access control lists such as public-read, private, public-read-write, and authenticated-read.
