New Features in the PDK 3.3
Version 3.3 of the Player Development Kit (PDK) contains a wide assortment of new features for those using our Adobe Flash-based toolset to develop custom players. Here's what you'll find:
Easy integration with DoubleClick InStream ad servers.
A new plugin parses data files from DoubleClick InStream and automatically integrates those playlists into the set of playable media files.
Updated support for Google Analytics.
A plugin swf control can report media views to Google Analytics, and you can add multiple plugins to canvases, track different settings on different canvases, and then report to various accounts.
Scalable player toolbar controls.
To adjust player toolbar visibility, use the new controlScale to increase the size of the control rack below the player window while in normal mode.
And there are a whole lot more features:
- Improved elapsed time display for videos over 99 minutes long.
- Options for displaying the video's elapsed time and total time in the player.
- Revised handling of URL-rewriting plugins to include support for asynchronous HTTP requests.
- Updated documentation on our supported SMIL format for ad serving to help advertising providers pass proper SMIL data to the PDK.
We update our documentation whenever we update our services, so you can get all of the details in the Player Development Kit user's guide. Download the latest Player Development Kit installer to get access to the new features.
