PDK supports IAB's new digital video guidelines
We are happy to announce that our popular Player Development Kit (PDK) supports many of the formats listed in the Interactive Advertising Bueau's (IAB) new digital video in-stream ad format guidelines and best practices for the most common in-stream ad formats.
The goals of the new standards include increasing efficiency across ad networks, improving efficiency of underlying technology development, making ad buying easier across multiple sites, and giving consumers a consistent user experience across ad interactions and environments.
In addition to supporting surrounding video player ads such as banner, rich media, and text ads, the PDK also meets the new guidelines by supporting linear and non-linear overlay ads:
- Linear ads include pre-rolls and takeovers, and generally come before, between, and after video content.
- Non-linear ads include overlays and bugs, and generally come during, over, or within video content.
It's the PDK's design flexibility that lets us easily offer support for these ad formats. Built entirely in Flash, players you develop with the PDK allow you to create, resize, and manipulate every component of the player in any way that fits your needs. You can get more information on the PDK on our mpsPresent page.
