.NET Developer - Contract to hire
thePlatform, a subsidiary of Comcast, is seeking a .NET Developer.
thePlatform helps content providers and video sites meet their unique broadband video publishing requirements. Responsibilities:
- Design and implement features in collaboration with other developers, QA engineers, and the program manager.
- Identify and propose new components and refactoring in balance with business priorities.
- Create high-quality code through test-driven development and refactoring.
- Ensure a high level of communication among development team members.
- Deliver fully tested working software in short iterations.
- Design database schema and tune SQL.
- Participate in all types of testing; conduct acceptance tests, stress tests and tune performance.
- Respond quickly to critical customer problems.
- Influence the direction of thePlatform's products and architecture by contributing ideas regularly.
Requirements:
- At least 5 to 7 years experience in the design and development of modern web applications.
- Solid understanding of .NET, Web Services, Java and relevant design patterns.
- Strong intuition for elegant object-oriented design with C#.
- Experience with database schema design, stored procedures, and tuning with SQL Server or Oracle.
- Enthusiasm for Agile software development methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity.
- Strong communication skills.
- A passion for design and a drive to get the details right.
- A dedication to customer satisfaction.
- BS Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
